Telling Stories about Stories

Author Sarah de Leeuw's personal commentary is a storied journey of witnessing the transformative power of words and narratives. Life experiences, alongside the narratives of Haida Gwaii, Indigenous and non-Indigenous authors, and health professionals alike, led de Leeuw to an understanding that stories surround us, fill us, and make us who we are. Stories are medicine. They enable self-reflection, human connection, cultural continuity, and resiliency, all of which have the capacity to advance better health outcomes for Indigenous peoples and communities.
