As part of its commitment to reconciliation, the Government of BC drafted reconciliation principles to guide the development of a new relationship with Indigenous Peoples. These principles address Indigenous Peoples’ right to self-determination and self-government; establish a standard of conduct for how government employees engage with Indigenous Peoples; and articulate the need for recognition of Indigenous People’s inherent rights and respect.
